The songwriting workshop offers the opportunity to learn from three of the UK’s finest songwriters in a relaxed environment and idyllic setting. The emphasis is on creativity and sharing music and whether you are a prolific writer, never written before, or would just like an insight into how songs are born, this is the weekend for you. Both the songwriting and guitar weekends are held at the stunning Friar Carse Hotel near Dumfries in the Scottish Borders. Set in 45 acres of woodland by the river Nith, the tranquility and character of the hotel contributes to the success of these weekends.
the weekends are fully residential and includes two nights accommodation in your own well appointed room, three course dinner, full English?Scottish breakfast and lunch each day plus all tuiton sessons.
The tutors
Martin Stephenson is the front man of The Daintees, accomplished guitar player and extremely successful solo artist and prolific songwriter. Helen McCookerybook emerged from the Brighton punk scene with John Peel favourites The Chefs and is active in the ‘live’ circuit. Scott Macdonald, Scottish singer/songwriter, has written songs for TV and is busy in the ‘live’ circuit.
